This November, Wellington comes alive with the sounds of Music Month — a citywide celebration of the artists, venues, and sounds that make the Capital hum. From the streets of Courtenay Place to hidden laneway stages, rooftop sessions, and intimate bars, Music Month is your invitation to experience the best of local live music.
Across four vibrant weeks, enjoy free performances, pop-up gigs, DJ takeovers, street stages, and special events in partnership with local venues and community spaces. It’s a showcase of Wellington’s musical heartbeat — from up-and-coming acts to seasoned performers who define the city’s creative energy.
🎤 Get Involved
- Venues: Host a Music Month show and we’ll help promote it as part of the citywide calendar.
- Artists: Apply to perform and be part of the official Music Month lineup — there’s support available through the Vitalise Wellington Performance Fund, which can cover up to 50% of artist fees.
- Audiences: Check the gig guide, grab your friends, and support live local music all month long!

🌟 Featured Event: Beat Street – Saturday 15 November
Courtenay Place comes alive for Beat Street, a full day of live music, street performances, and open-air entertainment in the heart of Wellington’s nightlife district.
The Entertainment Lineup will be announced 20 October, so stay tuned for the official reveal — it’s going to be huge!

As part of Music Month, the Tripod Stage at Massey University will showcase some of Wellington’s most exciting emerging artists. Don’t miss these up-and-coming bands lighting up the local scene:
